I use the 3500c on my PB with Jaguar and it works fine. I did use the downloadable drivers/app's from the HP-site(huge download)

Well, that's the same scanner my dad has with his powerbook, so I know it will work with Jaguar. You could try reinstalling the software. They released new drivers in April this year (5.5.6), but if you need them be prepared for a 170MB download.
