Hi,

This usually happens if you have opened a document off the Zip disk and have not closed it before trying to eject the zip disk. If it's being used by the computer (say you have a Word doc opened that resides on the Zip disk) the Mac will not let you eject it. I miss the good ole "Put Away" command in OS 9. That would have closed the doc and ejected the disk, no muss no fuss. Just make sure you're not running anything off the Zip and it should eject. Even if you close the doc, you may need to close the app that was using it as well (hence why it worked after restarting). Worst case, log out of OS X (10.2 and below). That will quit your apps for sure. Log back in and eject it.

Hello,
I've been checking out my OS 10.2 that I just installed on my G3-MT and it works very well. However, I'm not familiar with some of the differences. I put a disk into my zip drive to look at something. I finished using it and tried to eject it. I get a note that says it can't be ejected because it is in use. How do I eject it? I don't have any part of the disk in use that I know about.
Thanks
Wilton
