Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  Had I known then what I know now I
would have bought a DV camcorder.  Instead I bought a new SVHS a couple of months
ago.  For me the converter may be the most flexible option as I have several
hundred ours of SVHS to edit.

BTW, what is a good size for an editing HD, It will probably be internal as I am
strapped for space.  You would not believe the closet that my wife has relegated me
too.
