I forget if this is the original subject line. Whatever.

I have the media (spindle of 50 2.6GB DVD-RAM disks) and I have a
(borrowed) cartridge. The first disk I put in yielded nada. No
recognition at all. On a whim (after I posted about that) I put in a
second disk. Voila! Fully recognized (i.e Do you wish to: Ignore, Format
or Eject).

It formats fine. Read and writes are not a problem. Much as I expected.

But... I've gone through 19 of the disks and 7 (!) of them were not
recognized. I figure I must have the aracne technique of inserting the
disks into the cartridge mastered by now <g>, so I have a question: Is
7/19 an at all acceptable failure rate? I'm really assuming NO! - but I'm
new to this.

Any thoughts before I send off my email complaint?

TIA!

Frank
