Which would be faster, a G4/500 Dual or a QuickSilver 733?
The Quicksilver 733 would be the fastest. The 2nd processor in the Dual 500 only adds, IIRC, about 20% more speed when it's actually used. You have to have applications that use the second processor to get the benefits anyway whatever the speed increase truly is. In the QS you'll get a faster front-side bus running at 133Mhz as to the 100Mhz in the Dual 500. This also allows for the use PC133 RAM in the QS which is also faster. The standard video card should, also, be better. Instead of the older ATI Rage 128 Pro (2X AGP) card, there should be a NVidia GeForce MX 2 (4X AGP) card.
