Still have not been able to get OSX back up and running again.  I've booted 
from the install CD and verified and repaired the HD, but it still won't 
boot.  Booted fine before I had all that trouble with the P-RAM.  Now I can 
only boot with an OS-8.5 and OS 9.2.2 HD's.  I tried the Option key trick but 
that must not work with the Beige G3's.
