only if you get it on electrical contacts like the ic's pins or the rest of the board,
in
which case a q-tip should remove it just fine (other than some of the oil/grease
component
which isn't a problem). if you are worried, they do have an even better version
available
now that uses a ceramic powder ("Ceramique, with an accent mark over the first "e",
which
i guess is the french spelling and is supposed to impress us..) which doesn't conduct
electricity at all and carries the heat even better than the silver version. in any
case,
do follow the instructions to avoid air bubbles and get maximum benefit.
i've purchased said flavor on ebay and got a good price. on a side note, there are
some
"fake" products on ebay that contain 10% silver, but that's not enough and the particle
size and other things matter. it's basically a cheap rip off of arctic silver, and
may or
may not work better than ordinary zinc oxide based thermal grease. as always, buyer
beware, especially on ebay!
