Anyone heard recently when the 3 GHz G5s come out?

Steve Jobs was quoted as saying in "12 months" at his speech at WWDC2003. IIRC he then said the same thing at the Paris Keynote two months later. Steve's schedule thusly suggests Summer this year.

I recently listened to a talk by Mikael Haglund of IBM (it was in Scandinavia) give a seminar to Amiga users about he future of IBM PowerPC (sounds really good BTW!!). He was quoted as saying the PowerPC 970FX, that uses the new higher density platter, was finishing testing and running into production as he spoke (2 weeks ago). So the CPU looks like it will be available for a speed-bump as Apple will get first picks. I don't recall however if he mentioned the speed that it ran up to. A friend of mine recorded the webcast so I'll listen to it and see if I can find out for you guys.

I do know the 970FX will be followed by 970GX which will run at 3GHz and faster but the GX is not expected until G1 2005 at the earliest.

There you are you see where would we be without the Amiga ;-)
