I am going to be upgrading my compter from a beige MT that is maxed out (
G4 533 zif, 768 meg of pc133 ram, Ahard ATA 133 card with a 160Ghd
attached, Radeon 7000 and a LG high speed (don't remember the specs)
DVD/CDRW combo drive, generic USB 2.0 card) to a G4 533 digital audio model.

To get my beige to this point I have had to run a few hacks, pci extreme,
an altivec enabler for the zif upgrade and a manual install of DVD player
among others.

My questions are primarily (and I am sure I will have more later)

1) Can I just put the Ahard 133/ 160G drive combo with 10.2.8 into the 533
and run with it? Or am I asking for trouble and need to reinstall 10.2 then
update to .8 from scratch?

2) Once I swap the stock cdrw out with the DVD/CDRW drive, will this setup
play DVDs? It has the stock G Force MX2 AGP card

3) According to what I've read and just pure math, this system should run
rings around my beige because of the doubled bus speed, 4x AGP video and
just generic system improvements. Is this correct, or am I just setting
myself up for a big disapointment when I finally fire it up?

Thanks,
Len
