>Assuming you leave in the floppy drive bay and CD-R, how many HDD's can
>you fit in a G3 Beige MT?

The Beige G3 MT can accommodate five drives, four 1.6" high (three of
which may be 5.25", one has to be 3.5") and one 1" high 3.5".

The floppy takes the 1.6" high slot which has to be a 3.5" drive. The
CD-R takes a 1.6" high slot that can accommodate either a 3.5" or 5.25"
drive.

That leaves one 1" high 3.5" slot (the "penthouse") for the basic hard
drive (which may be either EIDE or UW-SCSI, in standard configurations)
and two 1.6" high 5.25"/3.5" slots. A Zip and a tape drive usually fit in
those.

For an 8600/9600 case, add one additional 1.6" high 5.25" drive or two
additional 1.6" high 3.5" drive slots (the "basement").

The answer to your specific question is: one 1" high 3.5" drive and two
1.6" high 3.5" or 5.25" hard drives.
