Heh

Could you have asked a bigger a question for an apparent newb to web
applications?

---- http://www.LHSMarket.Com
How do I set up a database to use with OS Commerce using Mysql?

A: Install MySQL www.mysql.org
B: Read The Manual for MySQL - This will tell you how to setup your initial
users and passwords, the OS commerce configuration file will probably need
the username and database name, and the password for the user will be held
in a different file (if the system is halfway secure)
C: Create a User
D: Create a Database
E: Alter Database connection part of OS commerce config file(s) on your
webserver

Note: if this system needs php as well then make sure you install mysql
before php otherwise you'll have to configure your php installation yourself
to tell it where mysql is.

Hope this helps

Sean
