 Hi Aaron and all;
  The Beige G3 has 2 internal ATA(IDE) busses. They are marked as J9 and
J10 on the motherboard. The boot drive cable goes on J9, (which is bus 0)
with the drive jumpered as Master with ID=0. The CD cable goes to 10 (bus 1)
with the drive jumpered as Master with ID=0. This is the way mine was when I
got it and still is.
  All Beiges had 2 ATA buses on the MOBO. If your video chip has DVD stamped
on it, you have a Rev 1 MOBO. No DVD stamped on the video chip, you have a
Rev 2 or 3 MOBO. Yes, swap the ATA (IDE) connections. That will be as
factory. HTH
