Certainly do check out the sites. I can offer some advice from my years of
playing around with SCSI devices. The "grounding" you refer to is called
"termination." Some devices are self terminating and you can usually figure
that out by looking at the back of the device near where you set the SCSI ID
number. There should be a small switch. BTW, make sure you have unique ID's
for each device and don't forget the internal devices.
If your device is not self-terminating, then you need to buy a terminator.
This looks like a SCSI connection that has no cable attached. It goes on the
end of your SCSI chain. Sometimes SCSI chains defy logic. You just have to
play around with what order you put them in until you find one that works
well. I have used and am using SCSI now. I have not had any problem with my
SCSI chain for a long time. Check out the web sites, and remember it
ultimately comes down to your common sense, because you will get all kinds
of weird advice when it comes to SCSI. You just have to sort it out.
