Hi list,
I just got an almost new (11000 pages printed yet)
Lexmark Optra M410 laser printer at a Mac sale. But I
can't get it connected so my beige MT (OSX 10.3.4 XPF, OS
9.2.2) sees it. The Lex has (slow) USB (I connected that
to my Sonnet Trio) and ethernet 10/100 which is connected
via a hub (10 Mbit UTP half duplex), on this hub there is
another laser printer, an Apple LW 630 Pro plus my ADSL
modem both of which work O.K.
What I tried so far:
I went through all the menus of the printer, found the
address of the printer which I used when I configured it
(well, tried to) for TCP/IP-printing in Print Center, no
joy. When I want to print, my Mac keeps on connecting but
never prints.
On the network page which the Lex prints from its
Utilities Menu it says AppleTalk is off but in OSX and
Classic it's on. When I configure the Lex for USB, it
doesn't print either. On the LCD menu of the Lex appears
the text Flushing Buffer then Waiting PS USB and then it
goes back to Power Saver.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? The demo page
of the Lex looks very nice, I think the printer is A-OK
but I'm missing something. I'd like to keep it and make
it print ...
