Yes and no. I think what he says at the end is key --- "Send in Windows
Friendly format." There was some weirdness going on all over the Internet
yesterday. That could even be the problem. Yahoo made me "logon" once, even
though I've got DSL and twice sent messages saying my mail services are now
upgraded. I have a setting that lets me chose whether to format in MIME or
UUENCODE. Then, if choosing MIME I can choose "none", "Base 64", or "Quoted
Printable" for encoding. I have "none" chosen.

The problem was coherently stated by Bruce, this comment just muddies the waters, Yahoo have just upgraded their service to compete with Google's incipient Gmail service. A friend of mine had his password rejected a dozen times or more yesterday by Yahoo's servers so there are obviously some teething problems.

Most versions of windows set a system registry key to handle file extensions with specific applications. If a extension handling key is not setup it can be done easily by using the open with... context menu, the first time an unassigned filetype is used by an application it is assigned a key in the registry to make sure that application is associated with it perpetually, or until it is changed.

But that's NOT the problem, that's just for digest, Kudos to Bruce for another top explanation
