Hi,
I'm helping a friend, who is not too experienced with
Macs, with his G4 Titanium PBook. He bought an external
FireWire harddisk for his DVD-work which I partitioned
for him. One part. is the size of his internal HD (20 GB)
which I cloned to that part. using CC. The second big
chunk has no system. Both volumes are OSX journaled, OS9
drivers are checked.
But the Book refuses to start up from the external! The
cloned partition is highlighted as startup disk. I
checked/repaired permissions before and after the
cloning. What's up?
We updated the Book to 10.3.5 just prior to the
partitioning. The Book should start from an external just
fine. What am I missing?
TIA for your kind hints ...
Jrg.
