To subscribe under a different address -- I forgot to mention. Anyway, I finally succeeded. I still don't know what the problem was, but I sent the confirmation reply from Eudora and it worked. Netscape 4.7, the one I was using before did not, every single time I tried (plain text).
Netscape: it's sending HTML, or using an attachment that indicated a weird MIME-type, both are things that are blocked by the maclaunch server.
