I would rather not have to go through an adapter to make a LocalTalk connection work. Any thoughts anyone?
Personally if I had a choice I'd pick an ethernet enabled machine. Less hassle. Saying that, I picked up an HP LaserJet IIIp for GBP 5.00 at a school fete. I have a USB/parallel cable (50 pence at a car boot sale) and 10.3.5 prints to it. Previously I was using CUPS and Ghost-Print but I think they are now built in
I also have a LaserJet III (GBP 10.00) that needs a new toner otherwise I could use that as well. Trouble with that is that the printer is the size of a small car! The IIIp sits on my desk
The other bonus is that because I use the USB thing the printer is available on my network - along with a Stylus Color 900 (GBP 15.00) - throughout my flat. All the machines on the network saw it straight away
Good luck!
Ian
