What is the work around?

A cheap USB 1.1 card that is OHCI Compliant. You can get one for ~$10 at
your local computer store or off of the swap list. As long as it meets the
OHCI standard it will work in a Mac running X.2 with no problems.

I know we are up to spending $30 and this IS the LEM list, but that will be
money well spent.
