I bought a external Seagate drive which is wonderful for my PC. Well I just
love it so much I want to get one for the Mac, can I use a USB2 card in my
beige system running OSX.2.8 and 9? Cause I cant run it in 1.1 since that I
way to slow and it will be a main drive I link my user folder to. Thanks in
advance for the help.
Seagate offers their external drives in USB 2.0 or USB2.0/Firewire. Buy the combination version and put a firewire card in the Beige. That's a proven technology in a Beige and no wondering about trying to find a USB 2.0 card that may work. There are a lot of competitors to Seagate with external drives so be sure to do some looking. Most manufacturers offer both USB 2.0 and Firewire on their external drives. I use one we swap between Mac's and PC.
