Has anyone had any luck with those modified Superdrive firmware hacks OWC has been recommending? They are supposed to increase the burning speed and sometimes read speed of various Superdrives.
The one for the 104 is supposed to allow it to burn 1x disks at 2x, which would be very handy for me. But when I run the flash program, it goes up to putting th edrive in a special mode (kernal mode?..I don;'t recall) then stops. The drive is uselss after that until I power down and reboot, when it returns to normal. I'm thinking maybe it would work in Jaguar rather than Panther. Anyone got one of these to work?
