No. It has nothing to do with searching for files by name. It's about searching for a specific text string *within* files.


I indexed my 50 Gig MP3 Share and my 30 Gig internal drive overnight and
this morning I see no difference,

You lost a chunk of HD - the created index takes up space.

And now you can locate all files that contain the word "frelling" about 20% faster than you could yesterday.
