>Is there a way to bring back my Netscape mail that I threw in the trash can
and emptied it? Please.... Tell me there is a way.

Thank you for lightening up my day!!! This sort of post always brings a
smile to my face. As a technical specialist that implements storage
management solutions I deal with this issue on a daily basis.

Data Protection. I can always tell the difference between customers that had
to recover data from a backup and the customers that have not yet had to
recover data from a backup. No matter the methods you use to protect your
data - Software Raid, Hardware Raid, Raid Level - 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 50 and 01
you should never overlook Tape Backup.

Simply coping data from one firewire device to a second firewire device
manually (primitive Raid 1 or Remote Business Copy) is going to protect your
data from hardware failure. It will not protect your data from software or
operator errors (soft errors).

I was in the business 8 years as a consultant and I did not reliably backup
my home systems... Wife's hard drive crashes in her PeeCee (still working on
converting her), Single disk in a Raid 0 strip configuration on my Linux
Game Server crashes and a USB WiFi Driver corrupts my Mac OS X install. All
within a month. It took me 2 months to get everything back running and
another 2 months to get it to look like it did before the problems.

Today all my data goes to a SCSI DAT 4mm tape drive. Sure the drive is as
fast as a 56k modem but since then I have not had a failed OS Upgrade or a
lost e-mail.

I will step off my soap box and quit handing out business cards now.

Just keep it in mind every time you press the reset button because your
Mac/PC/Palm/HandHeldPC locked up.
