Not to fan the flames...

I was a LINUX user for years, windows has always been a sore spot with me...
Intel hardware is also a sore spot with me...

Picked up a 7100 for $85 bucks used with monitor, cdrom, keyboard and a
decent amount of ram. Mac OS 9.X was/is buggy and rendering complex web
pages was sometimes painful.

Went to a B&W G3-400 and Installed Mac OS 10.2.X... Never looked back! A G-4
500 and Mac OS X 10.3.5 upgrade. I will never look back! Work forces me to
use a Dell Laptop - PIII 1.2Ghz and it is filled with Corporate Rat Ware. My
Mac will run circles around it and it does not lock up. It did with Wifi
drivers and that annoying D-Link 11mbs USB Wifi adapter. That was Driver
related and the Adapter went back to BestBuy.

It is too bad I can not put my B&W into my backpack and work on the road
with it. I am seriously looking at a G4 iBook to replace the Dell at my
expense. Work will not pickup the price of the iBook.

I am a UNIX consultant, Why in the heck does work force me to use a Windows
Laptop. My supervisor did not even realize that Mac OS X had a UNIX BSD
core! Linux lacks the friendliness that the Mac has. After a day of working
on complex customer configurations I like to burn DVDs, rip MP3, listen to
iTunes and Surf. The Mac Does it all, minimal LAG and 100% stability.

The Mac has made 1 DVD coaster and that was the first DVD I ever burned. Can
a Windows user say the same?

> While I will happily make movies, compose musical scores and create
wonderful 3-d art go along with it.. While my wife screams at me yet
again as her P4 crashes every 30 seconds, or that the newest virus has
turned her hd yet again into a wasteland of crap..
