I have a similar "problem"
I have used an AGFA StudioScan IIsi SCSI scanner for many years. A real super sacnner IMO, but as all my Macs are G4/USB/OS X and the FotoLook software is OS 9 I cannot use it (unless someone can correct me).
I bought a Canon LiDE30 (yup, same model!) and I am very disapointed.
I now have an old G3 233MHz beige box which I'm going to use as a server and scanner Mac. In any case it's fun to be able to run OS 9 sometimes too. Mustn't forget one's past eh ?!
