It's certainly possible to hack an existing brand authoring support
plugin to enable it to work with another model of the same brand -
doesn't always work though as I have found with some LG oem drive plugins
which have an oem prefix - hacking them results in a profiler freeze or
an itunes/finder freeze if the drive is retail. If you look for your
particular drive in the accelerate your mac cdrom faq you can probably
find one already hacked for download.
