I believe the problem is you are trying to add it as a
printer in OSX.  OSX doesn't recognize the ADB port
that your phone-net adapter plugs into.  

You will need to either reboot into 9 or open a
classic application so that you get the old fashioned
apple menu showing then go to the chooser and add it
there.  You will only be able to print to it using
Classic applications though. 

The other way of making it work, which will work with
both X and Classic is to connect to it over an
ethernet network.  If you have it hooked up this way X
already has the drivers built in so when you hit add
printer it will show up on the appletalk network. 
Thats how I use my 360.
