I just got my new (to me) sawtooth up and running. I added some ram, a Superdrive and a second hard drive (ata 20 gig IBM Deskstar I pulled from my beige G3). I added the HW in that order-- over a period of a few days.
After adding the HD I'm noticing a deep throbbing humming sound-- I think it's coming from one of the HDs (it doesn't start right on startup, but rather when the first HD spins up-- but I don't know which one is "first")... Sometimes this is accompanied by a throbbing buzz... This is very annoying and a bit upsetting since both HDs worked fine before and the machine didn't have this problem until now... Anybody else have this issue? Any ideas how to troubleshoot it??? Help! -- Katzy -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
