Philip, I noticed this letter to the editor in todays Herald- Dispatch newspaper from Huntington, WV. Reading your post just now caused me to remember it and I figured I would send it along to "just you" an not the list members at large.
The lady who penned the letter referred to a book titled "Blowback" by Christopher Simpson. I hadn't heard of it but found it in Amazon.com where I learned it is out of print....yet still available used. In his 1988 book, "Blowback," Christopher Simpson reveals that after World War II, Nazi immigrants were subsidized by the CIA to build a power base for the right wing in the United States. They have been successful. You hear them all day on Clear Channel with their sexist, racist, homophobic, Bible-thumping, union-busting, flag-waving rhetoric. These professional ideologues are chilling, but not as terrifying as the callers who back them up. These are fascists. It was fascists who killed my brother and my dearest friends. How could you forget so quickly? Adolph Hitler and the Third Reich were funded by the U.S. right wing in the 1930s and beyond. Among them were George Herbert Walker, the great-grandfather to Prescott Bush, the grandfather of the current White House resident. Before you vote, think critically and do your own research to what you are voting for and search your heart and think critically to see if you have become infected. _______________ Thought you may find this interesting.
