In the wacky world of retail, price is purely subjective. Your "reasonable" is my "ridiculous." <smirk> I had someone offer me a LaserWriter IIG motherboard yesterday for $199. When I first saw their listing, I thought it was a typo. But no, when I spoke with them in person, they were very earnest about their $199 asking price. As badly as I wanted to tell them to tune into Reality FM, it was their stuff and I simply didn't feel I had the right to tell them how much they "should" sell it for. > on 10-29-04 5:14 PM, Gene Osburn at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >> About where to find System software, I second the OWC >> suggestion; www.macsales.com.... >> They currently have OS X 10.1 for $6! OWC seems to be offering a 9.1/10.1 bundle for $39.99 if you wanted to just play with 10.1: http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=4918&Item=APLOSXOS91BUN That seems like a reasonable price to me, but I'm sure as soon as I say that, someone on the list will tell me they can get the same bundle for half the price. > Of course the last stick I bought for the MAC was a cool $35 or so. > But that machine locks up a lot - for no reason. OWC seems to be offering 256MB sticks for your beige for $31.79: http://tinyurl.com/69fue Of course, I'm quite cranky about this because I think I paid $32.00 3 weeks ago... I mention OWC only because they're a vendor that I'm familiar with. I'm sure other folks on the list have their own favorite vendors which may indeed be better.
