Read the specs page. they're SATA drives. Any SATA drives will work.
No they won't. You have to use "Apple SATA Drive Modules" and they are MUCH
more expensive than any retail SATA drive. 80gb goes for $200 and a 250gb
Drive module is $500. They "Module" component is not sold separately.
You aren't going to be using this as a desktop computer are you??? YOU would be much better off buying a G5 Tower if you are.

I'm thinking they are standard SATA, in a custom sled. If you've got one drive, you've got the sled, so you can slap in a larger drive in its place easy enough.

This backs my thinking up, with people swapping drives on both PATA and SATA xserves. Getting empty sleds, that appears to be the real challange. None are listed on ebay, and reading says Apple won't sell them sans drives.
