Just get Kyle Hansen started on the horrors of Norton, and you'll have a
sense of my paranoia and vitriol about that "suite."

Norton hosed a hard drive on a perfectly good 8500 back in the days. I'm
running a Kanga and a Lombard on a tiny Ethernet network in Fairbanks, AK.
Each runs 9.2.2, and I find that when things get ugly, just trashing the
right preferences every month or so and restarting takes very little time
and almost always sets things right.

I've never used DiskWarrior on any of these machines, because I haven't had
to. Just rebuild the desktop using TechTool Pro 3,, trash the 11
preferences, restart again, and you're good to go for at least another
month.

And that's on old machines. Think about working with a Windows Registry from
those days.
