Can a person ruin a CD-RW so that it won't allow it to be reburnt?
My CD-RW that I burnt last year with hopes of reusing, say it is locked and
can't be erased.
I had used Toast on OS9 originally to burn them.
I tried to use the OSX software and saw no options for reburning, so I tried
with my daughters OS9 toast... Says the disk is locked.
Go into Disc utility in OS X (under OS X it's Disk Copy) and in the menus is an option for re-formatting CDRW's.
OS X treats CDRW's like it treats any other recordable CD: as a one-session thing. To reuse CDRW's in OS X you need to erase them first.
You can also get software like BurnX Free from HernanSoft <http://www.hernansoft.com/products.html> which lets you burn multiple sessions onto a disk, erase CDRW's etc.
