You forget how USEFUL and CONVENIENT floppies (and here I include Zipdiscs, which are floppies too) are... no messing around burning CDs, and you can reuse a disc (OK, small floppies tend not to last).

This <http://www.sandisk.com/retail/cruzer-mini.asp> kicks the stuffing out of floppies.

Nothing fits in 1.44Megs any more, and by the time a floppy finishes writing a file I can have transfered the stuff on the Cruzer even if I had to dig behind the computers to plug it in to the USB port.

True, it's not a solution for a 6116, but geez what do you use that antique for, anyway?

It might be old, but it's a NICE machine... I really like it. I need it because I need Macdraw (haven't found another program that'll do what I need).

Macdraw only works on small HDs (my G3ed 6116's is 0.7gb) and max OS8.6, so my 6116 as set-up is ideal.

I did run Macdraw on my G3ed 9600 (OS9.1, maxed RAM, 3 HDs including a main 36gb) for quite a while before Macdrawe "realized" that it wasn't SUPPOSED to work under those conditions and began to throw up erroneous "not enough memory" error messages, refusing to save changes, then eventually refusoing to open at all. Macdraw Pro won't work on my present B&W either...

Oh, I also need the 6116 because I can't run my Microtek ScanMaker E6 scanner on the B&W (no parallel ports on the G3). The E6 is a rock-solid dependable unit, accepts ScanWizard plugin for PhotoShop, and despite its 400dpi resolution limit, is FAR superior to the POS Canon LiDE30 I made the mistake of buying (slow, noisy, zero depth-of-focus, poor-quality images, poor software which won't accept ScanWizard... I made the mistake of not testing one before buying, and not taking it out of the box for 3 months after purchase... so the dealer refused to take it back) and will now have to try to sell...

I have installed a CD-R in the 6116, but not the software yet (need a bezel to modify, too)... and use a ZIP100 to transfer images from the 6116 to the B&W (as connecting two Macs together screws up the Chooser royally, and you can't use a printer AND have the computers linked at the same time).
