AFAIK AGP is much faster than PCI as it's a dedicated slot with direct
access to the cpu without the burden of other PCI cards sharing for the bus.
AGP is a major revision - the Sawtooth 2x slot gives 512MB per second
throughput compared to the 133 MB per second 66mhz PCI. 8x AGP gives 2.1 GB
per second.
