Thanks everyone for the RAM advice!

Well, it appears that a monitor gremlin was an
unintended side-effect of my upgrade....my Apple
Multiscan 17" monitor now shuts itself down randomly,
as if it's gone into sleep mode, and restarting the
computer is the only way to get it to come back on. So
far I haven't found any pattern to the shutdowns.

This started immediately after my upgrade (beige G3
desktop):
OS X 10.1 --> 10.2.8
RAM: 160MB --> 256MB
Video memory: 2MB --> 4MB

Any ideas what could be causing this? THANK YOU! Greg
