Hello Marcus, I'm guessing, but here goes: The Mac version of WMP will play most anything set to WMV, except for those files that were dithered to an unrecognized or (MS for Mac) unsupported codec by the author (dithering/encoding from an .AVI uncompressed down to WMP preparation); I've noticed that those unplayable files can't be read by QT either, even though QT supports uncompressed .AVI. It's not the data, but the particular encoding that's in the way.
