This is something that users of "modded" Xbox consoles have been doing for quite a while. It seems to me that most of the software to do so is either opensource or likely portable. However, I am only assuming, as I know nothing beyond how to use said software :)

I'd be interested in testing these theories with my mac's as well. I'm currently looking to add a mini to my home theater before year's end.
