Hi There, I too agree that it could be a dead pram battery. One of my biggest gripes with Mac, they have a long line of unusual behavior related to dead batteries. The PM6100 vidio would go dark when the battery died.
I remember reading somewhere but don�t quote me on this. But I think it was in relation to the Beige G3. If you hit the cuda button and then don�t zap the pram on restart, then the board will do a quick drain on your pram battery in a matter of hours. As I recall, the proper way to reset is to pull pram battery, hit cuda button for 3 to 7 seconds, replace battery, reboot and zap pram. Good luck.
