What games can you recommend? I was reading the reviews for Grim Fandango
and wonder if they have it for the Mac. I know how many of you think the games
with violence, speed and blood are cool, but I honestly want something fit for
children as young as 10. Anything along the line of those games I mentioned?

I would recommend the MYST series for a 10 year old (or 20 y/o, or 30 y/o, or 40 y/o...). Imagine Zork with a graphic interface.

If you have a DVD player in your Mac, I specifically suggest 'MYST 10th Anniversary DVD Edition' - available at most Wal-Marts. It includes MYST, Riven, and Exile. Minimum system requirements: G3 233 running 8.1/9.1 (not OS X native, except Myst III Exile).

The thing that make this version nice for younger players is that the first game includes a built in hint system which can help them learn how to play.
