I'm talking about when I'm trying to explain why someone should buy a 1.25GHz Mac mini without anything instead of a complete system with a 2.5GHz, keyboard, mouse and monitor for the same money...
It's a really really really tough sell. And by not advertizing much, IMO, Apple is doing everything it can to torpedo all but one target group - the Mac users that want another Mac.
It's a poor choice for most newbies, because the required keyboard, mouse, and monitor can make it more expensive than an eMac.
It could eventually be a good choice for Mac-curious PC users, because they already have the KVM. My PC-using clients think the Mini is a "first release joke" because of the small/slow HD. Apple might have done much better to make the case slightly bigger so they could use standard size big/fast HDs. And since those 3" HDs are so much less expensive than laptop drives...
FWIW, mail-order companies like eCost are offering the Mac Mini for $495, with a "free" keyboard and mouse. I wouldn't be suprized if we see a monitor thown in two for Xmas. The eCost offer is in their generic/pc catalog btw.
