I know exactly what he means :-) It's the grey type on light grey windows/bars and the softer look bars and fonts - Firefox is a good example I constantly find myself squinting and leaning towards the monitor And before anyone mentions it - I have 2 new pairs of glasses. If you look at the pic on my homepage you'll see I have a 20" monitor within arms reach, as well as the Pismo directly in front of me. At work I use Win 2000 Profe$$ional and use a 15" Fujitsu flat panel. If I use OS9 on my machines it's crisp and clear. The type is crisp and clear - so it's not my eyes!! But I am an X man, no going back - my Pismo doesn't even have Classic on it anymore. My G3 does but I don't know why OS9 is much faster on these older machines but I've sacrificed speed for looks! X is not 'that' slow on them, it's as fast as 'her indoors' 1.25ghz XP thingy, but a magnitude better to look at and use And soooooo much good software . . .
