uhhh -- isn't ethernet built into the motherboard on a beige g3? I mean - I
don't need to install a card - do I?
A word to the wise.
Do not assume your ethernet connection is working in a beige G3. I spent a
long time changing out connections and cables and hubs and routers, until I
simply bought a $15 PCI ethernet card and installed it and things worked
fine. The ethernet ports on both of my G3's were dead. One a 233 and the
other a 266.
Yup - I have a Beige G3 with a PCI card because its onboard ethernet interface is dead. The PCI card works fine though.
