VERY unhappy camper here... Spent all day yesterday trying to get the perfectly running Sonnet Encore 800 mhz ZIF upgrade card to work in the new B&W Rev 1. Did it *5* times. Always ended up with a computer that was seemingly dead until I took the upgrade card out and zapped pram and hit CUDA to get back to a VERRRRY slow 300 mhz.
Anyone out there have any luck with Encores on a B&W? I'm about to lose my mind. Found all sorts of helpful stuff googling, especially hidden in the depths of Sonnet itself exactly about this. Main problem is (I think) I never get told about it installing the firmware patch (the supposed dialog box that has instructions, then you press & hold the programmer's button, etc. then a progress bar) well I NEVER see ANY of that stuff. So right now I'm an unhappy camper. Seriously thinking of going back to the G3 minitower, cuz it sure as heck is faster! .....grumble......shoulda just got a darned MINI...grumble...grumble...
