I have been on lists which have been littered by several prefixes because the mailing lists software didn't recognize the options for "Re:" in different languages. To wit: the Cube list, because several users are German, and "AW:" is short for "Antwort:" which means "Response." We would often see subject lines similar to "[Cube] Re: [Cube] AW: [Cube] Re: [Cube] AW: [Cube] Re: super-tricked-out water-cooled cube!" What a waste!
