Second: Macintosh has always been spelled Macintosh. never MacIntosh, despite the enormous addiction to oddly capItalzed words prevalent in the computing industry at the time.
The Apple Macintosh, that is.

I was mistakenly following the more traditional Scottish way--where "Mac" means "son of" and the surname is capitalized. In fact, they were alphabetized by the surname part and not the "Mac" part.

I also always thought the apple was named for the colors of the Macintosh clan--apparently not, or at least not directly. I didn't realized the guy the apple was named for was McIntosh--though he was Scottish-American, so it may have been an
