This was a non-issue for me as I was already filtering this list as I do all email lists in which I participate based on their "To:" headers into their own folders. Now I can't see as much of the subject as I used to. And it gets worse as a thread matures.

Please remove this non-feature. It adds no functionality.

Maybe for you it is a "non-issue", but for many of us it is very helpful. Please don't presume to speak for everyone here.

I was not speaking for everyone here nor was I presuming to do so. I was speaking for myself and will continue to do so.

But it is a fact that it adds no new functionality. I am speaking from the standpoint of filtering messages. If proponents of this change are doing so because they do not filter their messages, then those of us who do filter them suffer because subject lines are now longer and a reader loses subject line text that otherwise would be readable. And we gain *nothing* in return. If, on the other hand, people who want this change also currently filter their messages, then I am confused as to what functionality is gained.

I agree. The ultimate solution is to filter your mail. Wasting subject line space at the behest of a few listers is not a true solution as there obviously is a downside for many of us. I never liked that other lists started doing this.

I vote no added subject-line list tag.

Filter instead.
