How much memory do you have allocated in the get info for the preferred size? Apps frequently need more memory under newer OS's.

I do tend to allocate at least twice the recommended memory, sometimes several times as much. For MacDraw II rec is 750mb and I have allocated 3000 (and tried 10000 with no success). Pro was rec 2000 and allocated 3000.

I just tried again, with MD II set to 6000... it opened, but the window was full of colored lines. Pro I bumped and now works! (dunno why it didn't when i last played around with it).

I have set the preferred Size in the Get Info to 3000k for Macdraw Pro and it runs fine on a beige G3 running 9.2.2, a beige G4 533 running 10.2.8 and I just tested it on my G4 digital audio running 10.3.8.

Also, I had a copy of MacPaint that got corrupted. I made a copy of the app and ran the Verify command in ResEdit on it. ResEdit found that there was something wrong with the application and repaired it. You may want to try that.

Thanks, I downloaded ResEdit 2.1.3 and ran it over both apps... no problems found.

I'm just a bit leery of converting all of my II files to Pro, but guess I can convert duplicates... though this may well corrupt them a bit!

Rats... can't convert them. MD Pro won't open a MD II file, or even SEE one. I did it on the 6116, as I could open a file, select All and Paste into a new Pro file. Hmmm... the 6116 is working again... guess I can do the conversion there and transfer them on a Zipdisc. But from what I remember, converting moves lines, spaces & text around a bit, and makes the page edges run where I DON'T want them... and changing paper size in the Page Setup merely makes them cut in a different unwanted place.

Double rats... converted them, moved them to the B&W... and I can make alterations and save ONCE per launching of the application. If I try to save again I get the error message (I'd forgotten about this) "Sorry, there is not enough room on this disk. 1k more bytes are needed". How do I fix THIS? Bumping memory allocation to 8000 didn't help...
