I won't get into all the details , but I just downloaded an Adaptec 29160 card driver kext extension and installed it in OS X on an ATA drive because I kept getting an error message while attempting to install it on the OS X system on a SCSI drive. Then I dragged it out of the ATA system and dropped it in the SCSI system OS X extensions folder.

Any problems here? Permissions or other weirdness?

Also, in general, are there probable permissions related problems when you boot into one OS X system on one drive and then perform installations on another OS X system on another drive? I don't quite have this "permissions thing" totally figured out and always wonder when I type my password in on one system before being allowed to perform an install that is going to a different system. Two drives have identical owner/user names and passwords but a third is different.

Should have asked this two years ago-

Thanks, Mike
