I've been trying to find out which video card would be appropriate for upgrading my G4/400 "Yikes" model (PCI graphics). My almost-local Apple experts have told me I "might" try a Radeon 7000 Mac Edition video card if I can find one, but that it probably wouldn't do much good and I really should think about getting a new computer. A new computer is out of the question for now, and I haven't found a 7000 ME; but I found a Radeon 9200 that looks like it should be compatible with my system.

Is this card overkill for my aging 400 mhz system? Will it noticeably improve video performance over my current Rage 128? Will I have to troubleshoot other problems, such as firmware updating or some such? I use Panther and have 896 MB RAM, and have added a large internal hard drive and fast internal CD/RW/DVD player to the tower, so if I can manage better video the computer would still serve me well until I can afford a new one. Thanks for any advice.
